College visit
Today I took a college visit to Findlay and I loved it. The small campus style environment is me. I liked that fact the student to teacher ratio in classes is 16 to 1. It also has one of the best occupational therapy programs around here. I actually had the opportunity to have a graduate of the occupational therapy program take me around. She was very energetic about the program. The thing that worries me about this program is that not many get in to the program. So I do not want to waste a lot of money because this school is private which makes it expensive not to get in the program. It is really hard to decide because I am not sure if I should stay at Rhodes and get my assistants. Rhodes also has a small student to teacher ratio. The hard thing is not knowing if I want to get my full occupational therapy or assistants then go on after a year of work. Another go thing about Rhodes is it is so much cheaper than most colleges. I want the college experience, but I do not want to have to pay so much and be in a lot of debt. I really enjoyed the overall experience though. I just need to apply to a lot of scholarships to help with this if I want to go there. It looks like I have a major choice. I just do not want to regret it and waste all the money and have to be in so much debt. Hopefully I can decide this really soon, and know what I want.

This Summer and Things to Look Forward to
I CANNOT WAIT FOR CHRISTMAS BREAK! I am so excited because this summer I went to Buckeye Girls State, and that experience made my high school years. Yes it was nerve-racking at first rooming with a stranger, and not knowing the people near you because you were separated for the others that went to your school. I was nervous the first day, but I let my personality show. After the second day I never wanted to leave. This girls had become a huge part of my life. I became close to about four girls, but two I became best friends with. We exchanged numbers and we frequently talk to each other. This girls live close to each in communities near Dayton so we have talked and we are getting together. I cannot wait it has been so long! It is like going 6 months with out seeing someone really important to you. I still find it hard to believe that in a week these girls and I became so close. I just hate that we have to be far apart because if we were not I know we would do everything together. I also cannot believe the impact that program had on me. I learned some much while I was there, and I not only learned about the government but some truly amazing stories from some really strong girls that overcame big obstacles in their lives. One girl wrote me the sweetest note on the third day, and I still have it. When ever I feel down I look at this note and it picks me right up. Those girls that I met are not people you will ever forget that taught me so much, and I am so lucky I met each and everyone of them. They are true inspirations to me, and I know that they are true friends even if I did not get to know them for very long; they just portray that character. I hope that this bond we all have will last a lifetime because I am so blessed I got to meet them all!

Career
So my paper for college goes great with my career. I want to study occupational therapy, and the topic I found that was a major problem was home health care. Most patients that receive this are home bound, but what about the dependability factor? This means that someone has to be able to drive well or have a family member take them. I absolutely loves my interview! I meet with a girl that does outpatient care in a build near our town hospital. The way she talked about her job made me want to just start doing it now. She even told me about all the environments she had the opportunity to work in. You could yell just by talking to her she loved it, and was happy with the career choice she made. She also had a great bubbly personality that made the interview and conversation just flow. I just loved the environment, the things she had to say, and the over all idea of the job. Needless to say I can not wait until I am that young lady sitting there giving another young dreamer of this career the passion to do it! I just can not wait to see what my future as a occupational therapist has in store for me. I always dreamed about working with kids but I know that when it comes to that part of the therapy it is hard to get onto because everyone wants to work with kids. So I feel like working in a hospital or a nursing home might be better until a job in the kid aspect of it comes up. I do not mind either way because I know I will be doing what I love. I do not even mind that I may have to work weekends or holidays because to me it is all worth it if I can just make one person's day by helping them. I can not wait until I can finally do that! It will be the best day of my life!

Read response #8
I thought that this was a very interesting topic. I was not very informed on this issues. Well to be honest I had no idea what it was anyways ha. I really like how the author Burnett used so many examples to prove his point. For example Burberry says "while state forests in Montana made $13.3 million, Montana's 10 national forests lost $42 million." That static hits you hard because it is hard to believe that our nation is losing money on there forest while state ones are gaining. This all seems so unethical. If this topic is on the same side for both political groups why do they not just come up with a compromise and make it so we do mpt lose that money. Everyone even has it wrong most talk about how logging is bad but it is not the true loser of money maybe we should look at the top ones and find awat to cut it and help with is problem. I also liked the formatting of his paper it was cert precise. He stated the issues with a lot of facts to back it up which makes this very credible. Then he goes on to what needs to be done. That shows how my paper should be formatted, and also that I need to have a lot of good accurate, non-argumentive facts. He solution is not only ethical, but practical. It also helps out a lot of people in the long run. I really enjoyed this passage, and it will really help me with the writing of my paper.
