I liked this episode because it showed that the future is unpredictable. One way it shows it is that Ted always thought he was going to married right away, but he was not until 2013. Also it shows that people and their views can change. A good example of this would be Barney. He always says there was a new girl he was "dating", but in the end he just want to stay with that one girl. It was also funny, but it leaves you hanging on what might happen in the future for me. Will I accomplish my goals? Will I get married? The things no one really knows, and this episode is a good example of expect the unexpected. Things change, people change, and the future is unpredictable. You learn this through all the experiences that they ho through, but that they never thought would happen. Ted was not married at 34, Lily left Marshall, and Barney wanted to settle down. At the end you could tell they got what they wanted despite the obstacles they forced. All worked hard to get where they are at that time. The future is unpredictable, but this is episode makes you wonder what it will be like for me or others. I truly did like these episode with its humor, but more about the message. Which was to be optimistic of the future because you never know what might happen. It also had a lot of comic relief. For example, Ted being a lonely old man with pizza boxes every where, and everyone else living happy wonderful lives.
I really liked this episode as well and liked how you talked about how the future is unpredictable. It's really true! I think some of us, myself included, try to figure out how the future is going to play out, when really we don't really know for sure. It was funny how the two guys tried to think about how their lives would be different each 3 years and it always ended up being way far fetched and hilarious. I like not really knowing how the future is going to play out, because it gives me something to look forward to. It would be really kind of boring if everyone already knew what was going to happen and how their life was going to be. I wouldn't leave us with surprises or anticipation for anything. ReplyDeleteSo, I love How I Met Your Mother and I loved this episode as well. I like how you said the future is so unpredictable because it really is and it can also be a little aggravating. I am sure I am not the only person that feels like sometimes you just want to know what will happen and whether the stuff you are doing will finally pay off and how it will pay off. I know that knowing this would be really cool and make things a little more bearable but really what is the fun in knowing? I think that people are always looking for the thrill of the chase, the thrill of not knowing what will happen. Kind of like haunted houses, you have no idea what is around the corner but you want to know so you are going to find out whether you get scared or are surprised that nothing is there. So really, everyone is just looking for the thrill of what will happen next? What will happen if I do this or don’t do this? And I really think this why we do these things, sometimes its subconsciously happening but really we do everything for a certain consequence whether it is good or bad. I love that the future is unpredictable because how much fun would it be if I knew what was going to happen tomorrow before it even came? And how fun would it be to know who I was going to marry because if I did I would go looking for them right then instead of waiting, and that would be messing with fate and possibly ruining your whole future!
