A Child's Dream

When most people were little they dreamed of being a rock star, professional sports player, or even a doctor, but when I was little I dreamed of helping people. I remember when I would help someone solve a problem and how good it made me feeling knowing I had impacted their life. That is why from a very young age I decide what I was going to be and how I was going to accomplish it. When I was a sophomore I finally decide what I want to do with the rest of my life, and that was be an Occupational Therapist. After that I planned on how I was going to achieve this and how I can do it and come out in less debt then others, and Rhodes is going to be my key to success. When I first found out Rhodes had an Occupational Therapy Assistant program I was excited, but nothing would compare to the news that I got my Junior year. My goal was to be an Occupational Therapist, so I looked up ways to be one without having to go college everyday for the next three years after I had go two years for my associates. That is when I discover that the University of Findlay offers this program called the weekend program. This was perfect for me because I could become what I wanted and still follow the plan I had in mind. Through working hard and keeping good grades I have so far stayed on the path that I have planned for myself. The Occupational Therapy Program is one I believe will help me with helping others. They may not always want the help and may fight it, but with patience and hard work I will get them to were they need to be and know that i truly did help them. When I was little I was not like most people, but through hard work I will accomplish my dream of being an Occupational Therapist, and hopefully will help others.

The Amazing Game

This was a huge game for the team of St. Marys, they were up against the very talented of Liberty-Benton, this game would be the indicator of how the whole season may turn out. I knew going into the game that I had to step it up and become a leader for the defense. After the first 20 minutes into the game and  we were still tied 0-0, this is the make or break moment. Our right outside mid was dribble the ball; she went past one girl after another to pop a shot to left corner of the goal. After the goal, defense had to stay strong but then we hit a breaking point. The middle mid on the other team dribbles down and made an unstoppable cross to the other middle mid to score and make the game tied 1-1. Second half we played hard and put all we had into the game; I knew that we had to stay strong as a team and have the faith that we could win this game. Defense faced a lot of challenges, I  being the left fullback had to guard their fastest and best player of the team. Even though I knew she was a very skilled player, I knew that I had to play aggressive and step to every ball, because I didn't want to let my team down. Both teams kept on fighting to get just get a goal to fall into the net. Our team had more shots on goal , but the goalie was able to block them. As for the other team, they had less shots outside of the frame, giving us the goal kick advantage. Five minutes left in the game and it was still tied 1-1. All of sudden, the middle mid on our team dribbles the ball down the field making cuts that their defense could not beat and takes a shot to the high right corner and the shot goes in with 3:29 minutes left in the game. We stayed strong for the last three minutes, working through the fast breaks and good foot skills to ended up winning this challenge game 2-1.
